The new Library and Day Student Center, which is an addition to the Farmhouse Building, will include a "state of the art" library, individual and group study areas, a "Smart Classroom", and a two-story day student center. With the entire building wired for WI-FI, this "well designed space will create an environment that reflects changes in technology, institutional priorities, and evolving teaching strategies".

The Unites States Green Building Council 's "Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design" (LEED) is a nationally accepted standard for sustainable building practices. With only three LEED certified buildings in Vermont, none of which are secondary schools, Bast & Rood and GMVS are striving to have this Library and Day Student Center be LEED certified.

GMVS is pursiuing their LEED credits through student-volunteered workgroups.
